Photography is much more than snapshots. To me, portrait and event photography is a work of art while I also aim to offer you a fantastic experience during the photo sessions. So, every time you look at your pictures, you smile, reflect on and re-experience that happy time.

Specialization in the Field of Disabilities

I’ve been a licensed educational psychologist for over 30 years working with individuals with disabilities including intellectual disabilities, autism, genetic syndromes, and physical challenges. I picked up my first camera when I was 10 years old and enjoyed observing the many things in our environments that tended to go unnoticed, and then captured them in photos. Years later, I decided to blend my psychology and creative photography careers to specialize in photographing people with disabilities for the purposes of:

• Practicing inclusive artistic portraiture.

• Telling their authentic stories and creating personal legacies for future generations.

• Providing individualized and comfortable sessions that suit the individual and their personal needs.

• Educating about a sector of the human population that tends to go unseen, is misunderstood, and underrepresented.

• Producing images that evoke positive emotions, peaceful reflection, and fun memories for many years.

 

Headshots

Again, I photograph all people. In particular, headshot photography for those with diverse needs is a different process than traditional photography and requires understanding of different profiles of the medical, cognitive, communication and motor-sensory functioning. Customizing the session to the individual is so important to help increase comfort during the photography session while producing creative images that are much more than just a picture....it communicates the authenticity of the individual.

Family

Family photography is a special and sacred moment. Many years go by without documenting this special connection that will survive life times and help individuals live on. It's my honor to work with families so they can stop and just enjoy their images hanging in their home, office, or any other personal space.

Events

I greatly enjoy capturing all the special moments of events, which last forever. Professional and artistic photos are one of the only if not only memento you will have at the conclusion of the event, as everything else will be gone. Through event photography, memories and moments can be enjoyed over and over again by you and future generations! During your event, I'm always on the lookout for that feeling and moment that many times is fleeting or others don't notice at the time. It's about awareness and timing. I take care of this so you can and fully enjoy and be present at your special event!
